This 14 hour class is approved by NCBTMB as continuing education. In this class we will learn to properly and safely use cups within their massage therapy practice.

Course Description
Students will learn to properly and safely use cups within their massage therapy practice.
Learning Objectives
1.) Students will be able to identify contraindications for cupping therapy.
2.) Students will be able to identify medications that cupping should not be practiced on.
3.) Students will be able to explain how cupping works.
4.) Students will be able to identify the meaning of cupping marks.
5.) Students will be able to use a variety of modern cupping equipment to perform myofascial release.
6.) Students will be able to apply static and dynamic cupping in a safe fashion.
7.) Students will correctly choose the appropriate size cup for the treatment area.
8.) Students will be able to safely remove cups.
9.) Students will be able to sanitize cupping equipment.
10.) Students will be able to identify origins of cupping and explain how it applicable in modern times
11.) Students will identify cautionary sites.
12.) Students will identify tools and their uses.
13.) Students will identify the flow and role of lymph and the lymphatic system in the body.
14.) Students will integrate cupping for basic stretches to improve range of motion.
Learning Outcomes
Students will demonstrate proficiency in cupping for myofascial release on areas throughout the body in a safe manner.
